The Queen of Porto — for admirers of long barrel age, amber colour and velvety complexity. We make no basic Tawny (the style’s legal minimum is 3 years of ageing): our range opens straight with Fine Tawny, a Tawny Reserve aged 7–8 years — beyond the 6-year minimum the Reserve style requires — and climbs through the 10, 20 and 30 Year blends to the single-year Colheita. Long ageing in small puncheons and barrels before blending 3–4 different years gives elegance, balanced acidity, beautifully integrated sugar and alcohol, layers of dried fruit, nuts, caramel and spice, and our distinctive Quinta do Tedo house style. And because Tawny is raised in the company of oxygen, an open bottle keeps for 1.5–2 months — perfect for a daily glass.
